Dear SOC,
FYI, in case you get questions, here are the instructions that have been sent to the convenors for their sessions.
At the moment, we have 65 abstracts.
Best, M.
-------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Cosmo-26: Session convenor instructions & Deadlines Date: Mon, 20 Apr 2026 13:45:31 +0200 From: cosmo-26@lorentz.leidenuniv.nl CC: mschaller@lorentz.leidenuniv.nl, Ana Achucarro achucar@lorentz.leidenuniv.nl
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the SOC, we thank you again for agreeing to be parallel session convenors for COSMO’26. We have set up your managerial rights for the abstract selection process on Indico. If you don’t already have a global indico https://indico.global/account, please create one at your earliest convenience and let us know so we can add you to the system. On the conference's Indico portal (https://indico.global/event/15863/) you should see a link to the reviewing area on the left, which will lead you to the abstracts already submitted to the track you are a convenor of. There you can see the submissions, grade them, leave comments, and suggest the talks to be moved to a different track (if needed).
The deadline for abstract submission is the 30th of April, after which the process of abstract selection can commence but you are welcome to already take a head start. Each parallel session by default will have tentalks (two blocks of 1.5 hours consisting of five talks each), with some room for adjustment depending on demand. Keeping a more extended list beyond the 10 might be useful in case we expand specific topics; we have room to parallelise more. Note that you can also suggest talks to be converted to a poster presentation.
Sessions typically have more than one convenor, we hope for coordinated decisions but we leave it entirely up to you. Please see below for the full convenor list and contact details.
To ensure fairness for participants from all over the world (where some participants may require abstract acceptance for reimbursement from their home institutions), decisions about abstract selection will be communicated to the authors two weeks before the end of Early bird registration. For the convenors, this means a deadline of May 12 for final abstract selection. We hope this somewhat short timeline can be accommodated.
As convenors, we encourage you to curate a range of talks that represents a span in terms of seniority, gender, geography, and of course, topic, for which we’re relying on your judgement.
If you have any further questions about the logistics of convening, please don’t hesitate to ask.
With warm cosmological regards, Matthieu Schaller (on behalf of the cosmo-26 SOC)
